Safari Supper for Sunderland Restaurant Week [ad]

I was invited to the #EatDrinkSunderland Safari Supper to get a taste of what is on offer for Sunderland Restaurant Week in return for me to share my experience on my blog and social media. All views in this post are my own.
It's already half way through March and I've just been so terrible at keeping my blog up to date! I decided to extend my hiatus after getting caught up in a car accident last month (thankfully aside from some whiplash I'm fine!) as I needed to make sure I didn't stress myself out any further. I feel like I'm back on track now though and I'm really excited to be posting again as I've got loads on this year! This post will actually be quite a long one, and my photos have actually ended up being terrible so please bear with me! Hopefully you get the gist of it, but I'm a bit rusty and I was a bag of nerves most of the night!

I feel like this is the perfect week to pick for this months week in photos as it was my birthday so I had tons going on! 

So this week I turned 24 and I really don't know how I feel about it just yet. Half of me is like 'I'm still young, don't worry, enjoy life' and the other half is like 'OMG you're getting old, you need to have a house and get your life together ASAP'. Regardless of this, I'm really enjoying my life at the minute and despite struggles with my fibro, overall I'm just really happy! I know a lot of my friends and family can see such a change in me over the last year and a half.

Monday I had an absolutely lush day in York with one of me besties Kloe for my birthday. The weather was amazing, we really picked a good day for it. We had such a laugh and it was just the perfect start to my birthday celebrations! I also got to wear one of my favourite outfits - the blazer and vest top were a treat to myself when I hit my 1 and a half stone loss on SlimmingWorld!

Tuesday was my birthday-eve.  It was pretty chill to be fair but I decided to treat myself to one of these Gu cheesecakes. It was absolutely delicious and the perfect treat to have whilst I caught up on Riverdale. It felt like the calm before the birthday storm!

Wednesday was my birthday! I turned 24 and had just the best time. Birthdays definitely feel weird the older you get, and it's hard to fully celebrate when you're at work but I still had a lovely day and got to see my family on the night.

Thursday I celebrated my birthday with my best friends Hanna and Rozemah doing my favourite thing - having Afternoon Tea! We visited The Great British Cupcakery and it was lovely, a perfect birthday treat, but you can read more about it in my next Afternoon Tea Adventures

Friday I had to get my act together and start planning my meals again now I'm getting back on SlimmingWorld! I've come pretty far to be fair but had a bit of time out for some big social events and my birthday, but with just over a month till my holiday I need to get back on it. I'm actually looking forward to cooking again and seeing results every week!

Saturday was a family filled affair. Me and my older sister have our birthdays super close to each other so we always have a family night for joint celebrations. Following my planning the day before I decided to make one of my favourite SW meals, from the Slimming Eats blog. the Chinese Chicken Curry. It went down a treat, it tastes just like a takeaway but without the guilt! I thoroughly enjoyed cooking for everyone and it was just a lovely night with the family 💙

Sunday I visited one of my favourite pubs for Sunday lunch with two of my friends as a little catch up. The food was lovely, I actually rarely have a Sunday lunch like this! We had a good laugh and made so many plans for later this year, it was a lovely end to the week.

So this was my week! It was a fab birthday, I've had a fantastic time. As you may have noticed, there was actually almost no alcohol involved! I'm not a huge drinker because of my fibro, I find it even harder to recover the next day, so my celebrations always revolve around food instead, which is perfectly fine by me!
