Preparing for a Hen Do with Fibromyalgia

I'm not going to lie, I've got an insanely busy few months coming up. As someone who is used to spending a lot of time alone, this is genuinely so different to my normal life, but I'm so happy about it! I did a quick post earlier this year going over some of the things I've got going on this year, so I thought I'd share some posts about how I'm preparing for these with regards to my fibro.
First up I've got two hen do weekends for two amazing bride to be's this year. I am so excited and crazily happy that I've been asked to attend. I've got one in Benidorm and one in Leeds, and they're both going to be jam packed with activities to make it an unreal time. But with this comes a lot of preparation on my end, to make sure I know I can have a fantastic weekend without a dreaded fibro flare. Whilst I'm fully expecting to need a bit of recovery after, I'd like to try and make it through both weekends without a flare up.
1. Start Preparing …

Fentimans Pop Up Gin Bakery*

I think it's fair to say, based on my instagram and my Afternoon Tea Adventures posts, I'm a huge fan of cake! I've only just joined the Gin hype, and I'm fully loving it! I've realised it was never the gin I didn't like, it was only the tonic! Instead, I like to mix my gin with some mixers full of flavour that compliments the gin, and I think we can all agree that Fentimans are exactly that!

Well, they've only gone and found another perfect mix for Gin - cake! The other weekend, they opened up the first ever pop up Gin bakery in Notting Hill, opened by GBBO winner Sophie Faldo no less. You can see their promo video here:

Now I know what you're thinking, why am I sharing a post about an event that's already happened? Well the G&T cake fun doesn't stop here! Fentimans have put together some cake recipes so you can make your own G&T cakes to go with your weekend tipple (or your midweek, who's judging?). I think I'm going to have to try the Gin and Rose Lemonade Ombre Cake, I absolutely adore their Rose Lemonade, it always makes me feel extra fancy drinking it when they come in those lovely bottles!

Fingers crossed this pop up bakery pops up again soon so I can give these cakes a try! They just look delicious, and I just know a G&T would wash these down perfectly. Honestly I've never thought of baking with alcohol but the sound of all these cakes has me so intrigued! I think I might need to give one a try, and then I'll share my work with you all! TheGin and Valencian Orange Tonic Chocolate Tart would be lovely for a Christmas party! We're honestly spoiled for choice here!

You can find Fentimans on Twitter and Instagram, where you can find some lovely inspo for your next Gin! These would just be perfect for a party with your friends or family! Let me know if you try any of the recipes out too, I can't wait to try them myself!

Abbey xx
