Preparing for a Hen Do with Fibromyalgia

I'm not going to lie, I've got an insanely busy few months coming up. As someone who is used to spending a lot of time alone, this is genuinely so different to my normal life, but I'm so happy about it! I did a quick post earlier this year going over some of the things I've got going on this year, so I thought I'd share some posts about how I'm preparing for these with regards to my fibro.
First up I've got two hen do weekends for two amazing bride to be's this year. I am so excited and crazily happy that I've been asked to attend. I've got one in Benidorm and one in Leeds, and they're both going to be jam packed with activities to make it an unreal time. But with this comes a lot of preparation on my end, to make sure I know I can have a fantastic weekend without a dreaded fibro flare. Whilst I'm fully expecting to need a bit of recovery after, I'd like to try and make it through both weekends without a flare up.

Special Delivery - Scone Drops*

I'm not sure if you're aware of this, but I LOVE scones. It's my favourite bit in Afternoon Tea, they're my indulgent snack and honestly, I don't eat them enough. I sometimes get random cravings for scones with all the trimmings, but shop bought ones never seem to hit the spot, and it's something I've yet to master in the kitchen (also, I'm way too lazy to make them myself). Imagine my excitement when I heard about Scone Drops. A little drop of Scone filled heaven right here in Newcastle!

Gone are the days of wanting some decent scones and not having a clue where to get some! Scone Drops will literally drop them off at your front door, or in my case, at work after a tough few days!

Louise from Scone Drops was kind enough to drop off a box full of some miniature scones, plus a few big ones and some jam and cream to go with them! I honestly couldn't believe how generous Louise had been, and considering how difficult my week had been, it really came at the right time - the perfect little pick me up!

The unboxing of the scones was honestly so exciting, because I had no idea what I was getting! There's so many different flavour combinations, I genuinely couldn't wait to scoff the lot. I was also so chuffed when I spotted the little containers with jam and cream in! Just when I thought this box of scones couldn't get any better, they were thrown in as well!

I was given a really good mix of sizes and flavours. I genuinely had no idea where to start! I love fruit scones for the novelty of having jam and cream, but the smell of the cheese scones was just delicious, and I'm a huge cheese fan!

One of the cheese scones was a Feta & Caramelised Onion, which has honestly ruined all other cheese scones for me. I've never tasted anything like it! Still thinking about it now, if you buy any scones make sure you put this one on your list!

Now I normally like scones to be huge, but these miniature ones are just the perfect size in my eyes! Especially considering how many flavours there are, by having miniature ones, you're sure to be able to try all the flavours without getting too full! If you keep an eye on Scone Drops Instagram you'll see they're constantly coming up with new flavours, guaranteed I'll be getting more scones in the future to try out their new stuff.

I decided to be nice and share some of my scones at work, I instantly had a crowd around my desk as they all fought over the scones. We got to try the Sweet Cherry, Strawberry & White Chocolate and Raspberry and Coconut, as well as Chocolate Chip. Everyone at work loved them, they were such a hit!

I also loved the packaging of them all. The little 'Made With Love' heart stickers were just the nicest touch.

Honestly, I'm so pleased I discovered Scone Drops. They're the perfect gift, would look lovely at a baby or wedding shower, or even as wedding favours! With how many different flavours there are, you'd never get bored.

You can find Scone Drops on Facebook and Twitter, and if you want to order some scones, you can get all the information on their website here. I've actually been considering setting up my own Afternoon Tea party for my friends, and I think I'm going to have to have these Scone Drops make an appearance!

    1. They're honestly so tasty, and so many different flavours to choose from! Perfect gift idea, I'll definitely be sending them to friends 😊

  2. I love scones but can you believe I've never tried a savoury one before?! The cheese, caramalised onion one sounds right up my street! I've started going for tea and cake regularly at this cute little tea shop near me and they do the biggest scones, with fruit etc inside, they're just to die for. This brand sounds amazing!

    1. I love all kinds of scones, but cheese ones have to be really cheesy for me and these are just the right amount of cheese!

  3. Those scones look delicious! Like you, I also have a mouth-watering craving for cheese. I also love how the packages are wrapped with the sticker "made with love." That is so true!

    1. You could tell they were homemade when tasting them so definitely made with love! They were so tasty, can't wait to have some more!
